  • The fringe of finger-like projections at the ovarian end of the tube. They sweep across the ovary at ovulation and collect the released oocyte.
  • The tube is not attached to the ovary. The oocyte crosses a gap, which is why an ovum can occasionally be lost into the peritoneal cavity.
